I made some things

and I thought I'd share them

Atma

I've always had interest in how people play,
And set out to design an MMO of my own.
I kept a design blog with updates each day,
And discussed everything from theories to iPhones.

For now, though, my life and my job keep me busy,
And I'm finding that writing sheer nonsense is fun.
Though that blog's on hiatus, please don't throw a tizzy;
Atma will come to life (at least in the long run).

sweet dreams/soundscapes

A game engine I wrote (just for fun, I suppose),
With a rather young hero, no more than a tyke;
Use the power of music to battle your foes--
You can check out the source on github if you'd like.

I have built a small demo (won't cost you a dime!);
As you enter the game you can choose: girl or boy?
I confess there's not too much to do at this time,
But what's there, I believe you might rather enjoy.

Press the LEFT and RIGHT arrows to move forward and back;
Hold down SHIFT when you do, to change musical track.
UP to jump, DOWN to crouch, and press SPACE to attack.
(Or push ENTER to pause, and then go get a snack).

pyGAF

A Google Code project with my friend Brandyn White,
pyGAF is a framework for game AI scripting.
We slapped it together in just a few nights,
For a classroom project that was rather restricting.

We took our framework, turned it into a game:
You can grab a ball, pass it, move forward and shoot.
Scoring goals requires much careful timing and aim--
We evolved an AI that can play it, to boot.

The code isn't great; to this fact I'll attest,
But where Python's concerned, this project was my first.
If you want to know how well I code at my best,
It can't hurt to find out how I do at my worst.
